PHOEBE GILMAN was the beloved creator of the Jillian Jiggs series as well as the award-winning Something From Nothing, The Gypsy Princess, Pirate Pearl, Little Blue Ben, The Balloon Tree, and Grandma and the Pirates. Her fantastic imagination made her one of Canada's best-loved author/illustrators. Before she devoted herself to writing and illustrating children's books, Phoebe studied art in New York, Europe and Israel. She passed away in 2002.
