His first major success as a writer for children was in 1964. Thereafter his children's books brought him increasing popularity, and when\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"atm_keep-reading-flag\"\u003e\u003csmall\u003e\u003ci class=\"fa fa-arrow-down\"\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/small\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e he died, children mourned the world over, particularly in Britain where he had lived for many years.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eQuentin Blake\u003c\/strong\u003e's first book, \u003ci\u003ePatrick\u003c\/i\u003e, was published in 1968 and was followed by classics such as \u003ci\u003eMister Magnolia\u003c\/i\u003e,\u003ci\u003e All Join In\u003c\/i\u003e, and \u003ci\u003eClown\u003c\/i\u003e. He is best known for illustrating Roald Dahl’s books.
